CLUSTER STATEMENT

Kent is divided into 23 Clusters, which are groups of schools both primary, secondary and special, within a geographical locality.  Our school belongs to Thanet Cluster 1.

Thanet 1 Cluster was formed in 2003 although the schools in Thanet have traditionally worked closely together for many years.  The Cluster has a Management Board made up of local Headteachers and the Area Education Officer.  It is led by a Chairman and served by a Local Education Officer and a team of support staff, including specialist teaching staff, Educational Psychologists, Education Welfare Officers, Early Years staff and Community Schools Development Managers.

The aim is to develop a collaborative partnership of nursery settings, schools, external agencies, parents and the local community to enhance and improve the life chances of every child and young person in Thanet 1 by learning from each other through sharing best practice and resources and working together on joint projects.

The activities undertaken by the Cluster relate to either national, county or local targets and are planned and actioned through an agree Cluster Plan.  Each action is linked to one of the five priorities of  Every Child Matters. These are:

                                                                          Be Happy

                                                                          Stay Safe

                                                                           Enjoy and Achieve

                                                                           Making a Positive Contribution

                                                                           Achieve Economic Wellbeing
